Job summary

Koch Foods, Inc. is seeking an experienced occupational health professional to provide medical care on the 2nd shift in Mohawk, Tennessee. You will collaborate with Safety Managers to coordinate health services and maintain workers' compensation records.

The role includes pre-employment physicals, drug testing, wellness programs, and ongoing relationships with the local occupational health clinic. Confidentiality and knowledge of OSHA/ADA/FMLA are essential.

Qualifications

• LPN license or EMT/Paramedic certification required.
• COHN certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in occupational health preferred; ability to maintain confidentiality; knowledge of OSHA/ADA/FMLA.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care ranging from minor incidents to acting as a first responder.
• Support and assist Safety Managers in coordinating and managing health services.
• Maintain workers compensation information for claims and schedule doctor visits and transportation.
• Coordinate and perform pre-employment physicals and drug testing (post-offer, accident, and random).
• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs such as health assessments, immunization programs, medical care, wellness education, counseling, etc.

• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs such as health assessments, immunization programs, medical care, wellness education, counseling, etc.
• Maintain active and positive ongoing relationship with local occupational health clinic.
• Manage hearing conservation, heat stress, respiratory protection and ergonomics programs including development and delivery of employee training.
• All other relevant duties to the job.

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required OR Certified EMT, Paramedic, etc.
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Prior occupational health experience within a similar environment preferred.
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to ensure confidentiality of employee health information.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, FMLA regulations.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent utilization of office equipment and/or computers.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
• Possible exposure to heat (99°F, 37°C) and cold (45°F, 4°C).
• Possible exposure to wet and cold environment.
• Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
