Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking a part-time Biological Sciences Research Technician 3 in the Department of Horticulture for approximately 5 months. The role involves microp propagation, in vitro ploidy manipulation, flow cytometry, and maintaining lab supplies and training on safety and reagent disposal.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related field with two years of relevant experience; three additional years can substitute for the degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related area with two years of experience at Biological Science Research Technician 2 level.
• Three additional years of experience at Biological Science Research Technician 2 level may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in tissue culture/micropropagation is preferred.
• Basic understanding of genetics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• MicropPropagation of plants in development or release process.
• In vitro ploidy manipulation.
• Flow cytometry.
• Maintain lab supplies.
• Maintain training related to lab safety and reagent disposal.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related area

Two years of experience related to Biological Science Research Technician 2

Three additional years of experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree

Experience in tissue culture/micropropagation

Basic understanding of genetics
