Job summary

Oregon State University’s Ornamental Plant Breeding Program seeks a part-time, short-term Biological Sciences Research Technician 3 to support tissue culture, micropropagation, and other lab duties in the Department of Horticulture.

The primary goal is to increase the speed of propagation of our introductions, with ongoing work in lab and field settings to collect plant material and ensure quality control.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or related field with 2 years of Biological Science Research Technician 2-level experience.
• Preferred: experience in tissue culture/micropropagation.
• Preferred: basic understanding of genetics.

• Microp propagation of plants in development or release process
• In vitro ploidy manipulation
• Flow cytometry
• Maintain lab supplies
• Maintain training related to lab safety and reagent disposal
