Job summary

Bowie State University seeks a Plant Superintendent to manage campus-wide MEP systems, oversee preventive maintenance programs, and supervise skilled technicians and contracts to ensure reliable, safe operations.

Responsibilities include coordinating capital projects, reviewing system performance data, and enforcing safety standards across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems including HVAC plants, distribution, and infrastructure.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS for work orders and reliability tasks.
• Knowledge of BAS and controls integration for energy efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance, and reliability of campus MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Manage PM programs and review/update PM tasks in CMMS.
• Direct controls contractors to ensure optimal BAS performance and energy efficiency.
• Represent and coordinate with facilities leadership on capital projects and deferred maintenance.
