Job summary

Titan America is seeking a Plant Mechanic for its Melbourne Shop to coordinate and perform maintenance on heavy plant machinery. You will maximize equipment availability through preventative maintenance, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and support continuous production in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor maintenance of plant machinery.
• Repair three-phase electrical controls and components.
• Repair pneumatic and conveyor systems and belts.
• Maintain water systems and booster pumps.
• Weld and fabricate as needed around the plant.
• Generate and prepare work orders for breakdowns.
• Keep equipment clean and safe for operations.

We are looking for a Plant Mechanic for our Melbourne Shop.

The Production Mechanic is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the maintenance and repair of plant machinery and maximize equipment availability through the use of efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs. This position ensures compliance with all standards, policies, and regulations for safe, environmentally‑sound maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Work with and repair three phases, controls, and electrical systems.
• Repair pneumatic systems including compressors, dryers, and solenoid valves.
• Repair conveyor components, splicing belts, tracking belts, and belt components.
• Repair water systems, bladder tanks, and booster pumps.
• Welding various items around the plant, i.e., cutting, ox and acc.,
• Report equipment breakdowns to generate work orders.
• Prepare work orders
• Keeps the equipment operating clean and safe.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Working knowledge of three phase electrical systems
• Working knowledge of compressors, dryers and other similar types of machinery.
• Working knowledge of conveyor systems and belts.
• Must be able to working at heights, climbing, and working in the heat.
• Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb to heights of at least 50 feet frequently.
• Able to speak clearly and listen attentively
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Able to work 12 hr. plus shifts as needed.
• Able to work nights and weekends as needed.

Required Experience

• HS Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least 2 to 5 years’ experience as a mechanic working on production environment.
• History of working safely.
