Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Plant Manufacturing Engineer for Capital Projects at our Indianapolis facility. You will own capital projects from concept through commissioning, leading design, engineering, and implementation of new processing, packaging, and facility systems.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive measurable improvements in efficiency and product quality, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of direct project engineering and mechanical design experience in regulated manufacturing.
• Proven track record of leading projects independently, not just coordinating third party design.
• Strong background in capital project management, including initiation, planning, execution, and commissioning.
• Proficiency in CAD, MS Office, and Project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects end to end: scope definition, design, engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning
• Perform and oversee mechanical design, equipment specification, and manufacturing engineering tasks
• Ensure compliance with regulations, industry best practices, and company engineering standards across all phases
• Develop and manage resource, communication, and budget plans throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide hands on technical solutions, design support, and equipment troubleshooting assistance to operations teams
• Recommend & implement continuous improvement projects w/ ROI justification to optimize manufacturing performance
• Mentor plant engineers and technicians, transferring knowledge and building long term technical capability

Title:Plant Manufacturing Engineer - Capital Projects (Food & Beverage Space)
Location:Indianapolis, IN 46268
Salary: $130,000 - $165,000 + Bonus + Relocation Assistance

Founded in the 1980s we are a 1,200 employee nationwide developer and producer of food & beverage products, specializing in sweeteners, creamers and nutritional solutions. At our Indianapolis facility (250 employees), we focus on manufacturing operations, packaging innovation, and fixed capital asset optimization.

As a Plant Manufacturing Engineer (Capital Projects), you will take ownership of capital projects from concept through commissioning, directly leading design, engineering, and implementation of new processing, packaging, and facility systems. This role requires hands on technical leadership, not just vendor oversight. You will be expected to personally drive engineering solutions, mentor junior engineers, and ensure projects deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, safety, and product quality.

What You Will Be Doing

What You Need for this Position

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of direct project engineering and mechanical design experience in food, beverage, pharma, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing industries
• Proven track record of leading projects independently, not just coordinating third party design
• Strong background in capital project management, including initiation, planning, execution, and commissioning
• Skilled in DQ, FAT, CQV, ramp-up analysis, and related project management protocols
• PE License and PMP certification preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft Project, and CAD required
