Job summary

Verto People Ltd in Smithfield, NC is seeking a Plant Manager / Manufacturing Manager / Operations Manager to own a large-scale production facility and drive operational excellence across the site.

You will lead a multi-functional team, implement Lean manufacturing, manage budgets, safety, quality and delivery, and collaborate with leadership to meet customer commitments while building a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of plant management or manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience leading a complete manufacturing operation across multiple departments.
• Strong background managing production teams and operational KPIs.
• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or CI initiatives.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop large teams in a performance-driven culture.
• Experience managing capital expenditure, maintenance programmes and improvement projects.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality, safety and environmental compliance.
• Lean Six Sigma qualifications or similar CI certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of plant operations across manufacturing, production, engineering, quality, maintenance, materials, logistics and admin.
• Lead and motivate a multi-functional workforce, fostering safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Manage plant performance against safety, quality, delivery and financial targets.
• Own budgets, capex, workforce planning and cost-control for profitable operations.
• Develop and maintain a strong safety culture with OSHA-compliant policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, equipment utilization and overall plant performance.
• Resolve operational challenges while ensuring continuity of production and customer commitments.
• Implement standardized procedures and best practices across the facility.
• Collaborate with leadership, sales and engineering to meet customer requirements.
