Job Description

Looking for an opportunity that will challenge you while you take the next step in your career? In this role, you will drive the success of Precoat Weirton through operational guidance of our plant strategy to meet customer needs. In collaboration with the Regional General Manager, you will lead the overall plant objectives, set production performance standards, and align the organization to achieve these standards. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement of processes, service, and safety across all shifts. You will be responsible for managing multiple shifts of the plant’s employees and developing a team of frontline, supervisory, and managerial staff. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Manage using metrics and a proven management experience & process.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Employee Relations, Customer Service, and profitability.
  • Drive analytical problem solving using Organizational Excellence tools.
  • Manage at a strategic level that allows staff growth while maintaining oversight of operational details.
  • Develop and implement capital investment strategies.
  • Build strong customer relationships to understand their needs and demonstrate commitment.
  • Ensure complete Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance.
  • Manage plant P&L to ensure profitability while maintaining ethical standards.
  • Create a plant culture emphasizing urgency, employee involvement, and accountability.
  • Drive a true 6S culture.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of manufacturing experience across at least 3 disciplines (Quality, Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Customer Service, Six Sigma, etc.).

  • BS degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience & education.
  • Six Sigma Certification strongly preferred.
  • Front Line Supervision or Production Management experience required.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing plant financials.
  • Experience managing both hourly and professional employees, with talent development skills.
  • Experience in the metals and coil coating/service center industry is a plus.
  • Proven ability in root cause analysis and implementing countermeasures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet goals and deadlines.
  • Experience in SOP/WI writing for consistency and efficiency.
