Job Description

Looking for an opportunity that will challenge you while you take the next step in your career? In this role, you will drive the success of Precoat Weirton through operational guidance of our plant strategy to meet customer needs. In collaboration with the Regional General Manager, you will lead the overall plant objectives, set production performance standards, and align the organization to achieve these standards. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety across all shifts. You will be responsible for managing multiple shifts of the plant’s employees and developing a team of frontline, supervisory, and management employees. Other responsibilities include:

  1. Manage using metrics and proven management processes.
  2. Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Employee Relations, Customer Service, and profitability.
  3. Utilize Organizational Excellence tools for analytical problem solving.
  4. Maintain a strategic overview while managing details to keep operations on track.
  5. Develop and implement capital investment strategies.
  6. Build strong customer relationships to understand their needs and demonstrate commitment.
  7. Ensure complete Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance.
  8. Manage plant P&L to ensure profitability while maintaining ethical standards.
  9. Create a plant culture of urgency, employee involvement, and accountability.
  10. Drive a true 6S culture.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with experience in at least three different disciplines (Quality, Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Customer Service, Six Sigma, etc.).

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience & education.
  2. Six Sigma Certification is strongly preferred.
  3. Experience in Front Line Supervision or Production Management.
  4. Strong financial acumen and experience managing plant financials.
  5. Experience managing both hourly and professional staff, with a focus on talent development.
  6. Experience in the metals and coil coating/service center industry is a plus.
  7. Proven ability in root cause analysis and problem solving.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  9. Experience in SOP/WI development to ensure consistency.
