Job description

The Plant Manager serves as the top leader of the manufacturing facility. This position oversees and manages all plant operations, including safety, quality, production, maintenance, and warehousing. To excel in this role, a qualified candidate must effectively promote safety initiatives, identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, develop personnel, set clear goals and expectations, and manage costs to ensure maximum return for the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead plant operations, including safety, quality, maintenance, engineering, shipping, and receiving.
• Develop and ensure the execution of the annual plan and all Key Performance Indicators.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality performance, operational efficiencies, and waste reduction through Lean manufacturing principles.
• Partner with executive leadership to develop, design, plan, budget, and implement capital projects aimed at improving throughput, quality, and safety.
• Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations to develop and execute plans for new product introductions.
• Provide appropriate leadership and guidance to the department management team regarding people functions for the facility, including employee safety, organizational design, talent selection, employee development, performance management, labor relations, and policy/regulatory compliance.
• Address all reported or observed food safety and quality issues.
