Job summary

Med-National Staffing Inc. is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager for its Troy, Michigan CNC manufacturing operation to lead safety, quality, delivery and profitability.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage a high-mix, low-volume shop, oversee CNC programming, setup, tooling, maintenance, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on-time, cost-effective production. The role requires 7–10 years of leadership experience, P&L awareness, and strong coaching skills; a related associate degree

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
• Plant-level responsibility for production, people, operational results, and financial performance.
• Experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or a high‑mix, low‑volume job-shop environment.
• Experience reading and managing P&L statements, budgets, forecasts, cost drivers, and variance analysis.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to spend regular time on the production floor and safely access manufacturing equipment.
• Associate degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Operations/Business preferred or equivalent leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead all plant operations with safety, quality, delivery, employee engagement, continuous improvement, and profitability.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional manufacturing environment.
• Own plant financial performance, including revenue and margin forecasting, budgeting, labor planning, capital expenditures, and cost control.
• Lead CNC machining operations, including programming support, machine setup, tooling, fixtures, cycle-time improvement, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability.
• Oversee daily production within a high‑mix, low‑volume machining environment.
• Balance customer priorities, production schedules, available capacity, setup reduction, quality requirements, and profitable execution.
• Establish and monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, labor, scrap, downtime, and financial performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and deliver measurable cost savings.
• Support quoting, order review, supplier coordination, subcontractor performance, new-product development, and program launches.
• Ensure compliance with the quality management system, customer requirements, corrective-action processes, and controlled manufacturing documentation.
• Lead, coach, and hold accountable the Production, Quality, Process Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
• Partner with Human Resources on staffing, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations, succession planning, and workforce development.
• Communicate plant priorities, expectations, challenges, and results to employees, company leadership, customers, and suppliers.

Our client, an established precision manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all operations at its Troy, Michigan facility. This position has full responsibility for plant safety, culture, customer delivery, quality, continuous improvement, team performance, and financial results. What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Working knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, fixtures, machine setup, routings, cycle‑time improvement, and shop‑floor problem‑solving.


• Experience reading and managing P&L statements, budgets, forecasts, cost drivers, capital justifications, and variance analysis.


• Proven ability to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and profitability.


• Experience leading production, quality, engineering, and maintenance functions.


• Knowledge of quality systems, corrective action, customer requirements, and controlled manufacturing documentation.


• Experience using an ERP or job‑management system for scheduling, labor reporting, purchasing, inventory, shipping, and job‑cost visibility. Plex experience is preferred.


• Strong leadership, accountability, communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.


• Ability to spend regular time on the production floor and safely access manufacturing equipment and work areas.


• Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
