Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and results-driven Plant Manager to oversee our unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the production of high-quality, reliable autonomous vehicles, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement. The Plant Manager will oversee all plant operations, drive operational excellence, and ensure maximum productivity, safety, and quality. Reporting to the COO, the ideal candidate is a strong leader who can foster collaboration, streamline processes, and solve complex challenges in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Lead daily plant operations to meet production goals, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement production plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
- Monitor performance metrics (KPIs), identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Establish production targets to maximize productivity while minimizing downtime and waste.
- Staff Management and Development:
- Supervise supervisors, engineers, and production staff, ensuring proper training and motivation.
- Promote a positive work environment emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and respect.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and employee development initiatives.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and work schedules to support production goals.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Foster a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Identify and address safety hazards through audits and training.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance:
- Oversee quality control standards and ensure products meet quality expectations.
- Collaborate with quality teams to resolve defects and production issues.
- Drive continuous process improvements for quality and customer satisfaction.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the plant’s budget, controlling costs and ensuring financial targets are met.
- Forecast resource needs, manage inventory, and coordinate with engineering for equipment maintenance.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Implement lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Stay updated on manufacturing technologies and industry trends.
- Lead projects to upgrade plant capabilities and scale production.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with product development, engineering, and supply chain teams to meet production needs.
- Partner with HR to maintain a skilled, diverse workforce and manage labor relations.
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership on plant performance and challenges.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 7-10 years of manufacturing experience, with 3+ years in leadership, preferably in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, or autonomous vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean, and quality practices.

- Salary range: $120K - $180K annually
