Job summary

Confidential seeks a results-driven Plant Operations Leader to oversee all plant functions in Illinois, prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance. You will drive daily production, dispatch, and customer satisfaction while optimizing productivity and budget adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant operations with safety as the top priority and ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA, DOT and policies.
  • Manage daily production and dispatch to meet quality and customer demand.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and cost effectiveness.
  • Address customer needs while protecting the company’s long-term interests.
  • Initiate programs and scheduling strategies to increase productivity and safe operations within budget.
  • Manage subordinate personnel, work independently, meet deadlines and maintain fiscal integrity.
  • Ensure product quality by enforcing formulation, testing standards and corrective actions.
  • Hire, train, coach, and build a strong, professional team culture.
  • Oversee plant, equipment and facility maintenance to minimize downtime and protect assets.
  • Forecast materials, manage raw materials/fuel, order needs and control waste.
  • Administer payroll and timekeeping with accurate entry and proper job coding.
  • Communicate with operations, sales, dispatch and leadership to drive safety, efficiency and service.
  • Identify training needs for field employees and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Promote a culture of health, safety and environmental policy adherence.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead all plant operations with safety as the top priority, ensuring compliance with OSHA/MSHA, DOT, environmental, and company policies.
  • Manage daily production and dispatch coordination to deliver quality product on time and meet customer demand.
  • Consistently identify new operational opportunities and develop strategies for accomplishing the attainment of improved efficiency and productivity.
  • Address the needs of the customer while at the same time promoting and protecting the long-term interests of the Company.
  • Initiate and implement production and scheduling related programs, strategies and techniques that result in increased productivity, and maintain safe operations of the assigned Plant, while containing the budgeted expenses of the assigned plants.
  • Manage the performances of subordinate personnel, work independently, meet deadlines and manage the assigned Plant with fiscal integrity.
  • Ensure product quality by enforcing product formulation, testing standards, and corrective actions.
  • Hire, train, coach, and hold employees accountable while building a strong, professional team culture.
  • Oversee plant, equipment, and facility maintenance to minimize downtime and protect company assets.
  • Manage inventory of raw materials and fuel; forecast needs, order materials, and control waste.
  • Administer payroll and timekeeping, ensuring accurate time entry, proper job coding, overtime control, and policy compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, sales, dispatch, and leadership while driving continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and service.
  • Identify all areas of training needed for field employees and ensure they complete by required deadlines
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management

Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading a heavy industry manufacturing plant
