Job summary

ANDRITZ in the United States seeks an experienced plant leader to plan, organize, staff, and direct all activities to safely manufacture quality products and ensure efficient operations. The role requires steering all plant functions and guiding a team toward meeting quality, time, and cost targets while satisfying customers.

The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of manufacturing experience, strong leadership ability, knowledge of ISO/TQM standards, and familiarity with SAP ERP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing experience and knowledge of admin and plant engineering functions.
  • Knowledge of product requirements, planning techniques, labor and safety laws, TQM/ISO knowledge.
  • Experience with continuous improvement practices and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, staff, and direct all activities to safely manufacture and operate the plant.
  • Ensure orders are completed within quality, time, and cost targets and meet customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee production, accounting, P&L, budget, quality control, customer service, and maintenance.
  • Maintain a safe, environmentally sound workplace compliant with laws and regulations.
  • Develop a teamwork-based, customer-focused, and responsive workforce.
  • Oversee quality systems, ISO and OSHA compliance; drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing, training, development, and performance of plant employees; ensure policy compliance.
  • Foster positive employee relations and a constructive work environment.
  • Develop manufacturing plans aligned with operating and capital budgets; structure staff accordingly.
  • Communicate information effectively to employees and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic manufacturing plans for the plant.

Job description

Plans, organizes, staffs, and directs all activities necessary to safely manufacture, a quality product, and efficiently operation of the plant.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Responsible for the profitable operation of the plant. Ensures that all orders completed within the required quality, time, cost parameters, and to the satisfaction of customers.
  • Responsible for all functions within the plant including production, accounting, P&L, budget, quality control, customer service, and maintenance. Oversees all aspects of production, assisted by department members.
  • Maintaining a work environment and practices that are safe, environmentally sound, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop a teamwork-based, customer-focused, and responsive workforce.
  • Oversee quality systems, ISO and OSHA compliance.
  • Oversee continuous improvement in all focus areas.
  • Oversee selection, training, development, and performance managment of plant employees. Ensures personnel actions are fairly and consistent with written policies and in compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Cultivate a positive work enviorment through employee relations.
  • Develops manufacturing plans with operating and capital budgets. Structures and manages staff to achieve planned results.
  • Communicates any applicable information effectively to employees.
  • Responsible for long term strategic manufacturing plans for the plant.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Four-year degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and working knowledge of administrative and plant engineering functions. Knowledge of product requirements, planning and organizational techniques, labor and safety laws, TQM and ISO knowledge, continuous improvement practices, human relations techniques, and leadership skill.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) would be beneficial.
