Job summary

Lindsay Precast is seeking a Plant Manager to lead our precast concrete facility in Rock Hill, SC. You will oversee production, safety, quality, maintenance, and workforce to deliver high-quality precast products on schedule.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage budgets, and develop a capable, safety‑driven team across shifts. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on execution.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in precast manufacturing; 3+ years in plant leadership.
  • Deep knowledge of precast processes: forms, reinforcement, pouring, curing.
  • Proven ability to lead hourly and salaried teams.
  • Strong OSHA safety knowledge; NPCA/ACI quality standards familiarity.
  • Proficient in production planning, scheduling, and labor cost management.
  • Able to read engineering drawings, specifications, and mix designs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; ERP/production systems experience preferred.

**Plant Manager**Classification: Full-Time, ExemptPaid WeeklyMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance benefits available the first day of the month following date of hire.Paid Time Off.401(k) after 90 days with a 4% company match.Position SummaryThe Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of a precast concrete manufacturing facility. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership across all production, quality, safety, maintenance, and workforce functions — ensuring the plant consistently delivers high-quality precast products on schedule and in compliance with all regulatory and company standards. The Plant Manager drives a culture of continuous improvement, operational discipline, and employee development in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Responsibilities**Production & Operations Management*** Direct all daily plant operations in alignment with company policies, production schedules, and customer commitments.* Oversee pouring schedules to ensure molds are staged, prepared, and ready for production as required.* Allocate labor across production teams to meet incentive efficiency targets and shift output goals.* Partner with scheduling and dispatch to align product readiness with delivery requirements and fleet availability.* Coordinate inbound and outbound material flow with forklift operators and dispatch; enforce proper product handling protocols to minimize damage and rework.* Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory in collaboration with purchasing to prevent production interruptions.* In the event of equipment failures, non-conforming product, or other disruptions, lead rapid response efforts to protect customer commitments and conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.**Safety, Quality & Compliance*** Champion a safety-first culture across all shifts and departments; enforce OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards without exception.* Lead safety meetings, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.* Partner with Quality Control to ensure all precast products meet engineering specifications, industry standards (e.g., NPCA), and customer requirements.* Drive ongoing scrap reduction, rework minimization, and quality yield improvements through data-driven analysis and corrective action.* Ensure plant housekeeping standards are maintained consistently across all areas and at the close of each shift.**Maintenance & Facilities*** Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment, tooling, and molds are maintained in optimal working condition.* Identify capital needs and equipment upgrade opportunities; develop business cases and coordinate implementation with leadership.* Manage environmental and seasonal facility considerations, including energy efficiency and building systems (e.g., minimizing door open time during cold weather operations).**Workforce Leadership & Development*** Recruit, develop, and retain a skilled and motivated production workforce in partnership with Human Resources.* Select, train, and mentor plant supervisors and team leads; build bench strength and ensure coverage plans are in place for all key roles.* Conduct regular performance reviews, deliver coaching and feedback, and address performance issues promptly and professionally.* Schedule and lead plant-wide meetings to communicate priorities, performance results, and safety updates.* Control and minimize overtime while balancing production needs; optimize staffing levels through proactive workforce planning.* Attend corporate training and leadership meetings as required.**Reporting & Continuous Improvement*** Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all production reports, labor reports, and operational metrics.* Analyze plant performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities; implement corrective actions with measurable outcomes.* Lead or support lean manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.* Develop and manage departmental budgets;
