Job Description

As the Plant Manager of Richland Center, you will provide the overall leadership and management of manufacturing operations and the operations strategy for complex electrical equipment product lines. The Plant Manager is responsible for establishing and implementing operations strategy that will drive the Richland Center plant as a high-quality low-cost producer of key Rockwell Automation products. Key functions include manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, employee relations, production control, inventory control, procurement, information technology, quality, safety and environment, and logistics.

The position collaborates with global business partners to work toward common platforms, methods, procedures, and systems. It has leadership responsibilities to drive a lean continuous improvement culture leading to quality improvements, cycle time reductions, safety improvements, cost and waste reductions, inventory reductions, supplier development, and on-time shipping performance.

The Plant Manager at this location has direct and indirect reports of approximately 300 employees. You will report to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Manufacturing process knowledge in make-to-stock assembly environment
  2. Materials and order management, planning, and procurement knowledge
  3. Manufacturing Engineering Acumen
  4. Responsible for driving continuous improvement regarding costs of goods sold, quality, delivery, cycle time, lead time, and asset management through Lean practices.
  5. Capacity planning and management
  6. Demonstrates business leadership throughout the organization to create and achieve strategic and tactical objectives for the operation. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing a Strategic Manufacturing and Operations Plan that supports productivity and financial objectives.
  7. Quality systems management
  8. Employee relations within a diverse workforce
  9. Develop expense and capital budgets and manage financial performance.
  10. Manage all issues associated with facility operations, maintenance, and Rockwell Automation's presence in the local community
  11. Ensure familiarity with company policies and procedures, applying them in compliance with government laws. Policies include Standards of Business Conduct and Ethics, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g., health, safety, security, quality, environmental), and functional policies.
  12. Create, motivate, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.
  13. Lead systemic workforce planning and succession planning, including top talent development
  14. Foster a performance-based culture, including performance standards and career development to enhance employee engagement and retention.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain
  • 8+ years of management experience in production operations, including multiple functional areas
  • Financial business knowledge and strategic planning experience
  • ERP experience
  • Experience in lean manufacturing
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with global operations
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
