Job summary

Green Electronic Solutions Inc. seeks an experienced Plant Manager to lead daily operations of our electronics recycling, warehouse, and production facility in Illinois. You will oversee warehouse activities, production processes, facility maintenance, and continuous process improvement to ensure operational excellence.

The ideal candidate has hands-on leadership, mechanical aptitude, and experience managing industrial or warehouse facilities with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing warehouse, manufacturing, production, recycling, or industrial operations.
  • Experience supervising warehouse or production teams.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and production workflows.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience coordinating preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all day-to-day warehouse, production, shipping, receiving, and material handling operations.
  • Develop and implement procedures that improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and workplace organization.
  • Monitor workflow and staffing levels to ensure production schedules and customer commitments are met.
  • Coordinate daily priorities with management to maximize operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure materials are properly stored and handled.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for facility equipment and systems.
  • Maintain facility infrastructure, including lighting, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and oversee emergency preparedness and safety documentation.
  • Supervise warehouse leads, maintenance personnel, and production employees; mentor and develop staff.
  • Analyze KPIs and identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower costs.
  • Assist with budgeting for maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.

Job description

Green Electronic Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to lead the daily operations of our growing electronics recycling, warehouse, and production facility. This position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence by overseeing warehouse activities, production processes, facility maintenance, equipment reliability, employee safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement.

The Plant Manager will play a key leadership role by developing efficient workflows, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, managing facility resources, and supporting the company's long-term growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong operational knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and experience managing industrial or warehouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
  • Direct and oversee all day-to-day warehouse, production, shipping, receiving, and material handling operations.
  • Develop and implement procedures that improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and workplace organization.
  • Monitor workflow and staffing levels to ensure production schedules and customer commitments are met.
  • Coordinate daily priorities with management to maximize operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure materials are properly stored and handled.
Facility & Equipment Management
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for forklifts, conveyors, balers, production equipment, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and other facility assets.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs with internal staff and outside contractors.
  • Maintain facility infrastructure, including lighting, plumbing, electrical, fire protection systems, dock equipment, and warehouse racking.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Manage vendor relationships for facility maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of workplace safety.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, fire code, environmental regulations, and all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Conduct routine facility safety inspections and identify corrective actions.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness, fire extinguisher inspections, evacuation plans, and safety documentation.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, recommend corrective actions, and maintain required records.
  • Ensure employees receive proper safety training and follow established procedures.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise warehouse leads, maintenance personnel, and production employees.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on continuous improvement and employee engagement.
Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze operational performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower operating costs.
  • Recommend facility improvements, capital equipment purchases, and process enhancements.
  • Support expansion projects and implementation of new operational systems.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain maintenance records, inspection logs, safety documentation, and compliance reports.
  • Assist with budgeting for maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
  • Prepare reports for senior management regarding operational performance and facility status.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing warehouse, manufacturing, production, recycling, or industrial operations.
  • Previous leadership experience supervising warehouse or production teams.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and production workflows.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience coordinating preventative maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Electrical license or industrial electrical experience.
  • Mechanical maintenance or industrial maintenance certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Forklift Trainer certification.
  • Fire Protection or Fire Safety certification.
  • Experience with EPA and environmental compliance.
  • Experience preparing for or managing OSHA, Fire Marshal, EPA, insurance, or local government inspections.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience managing electronics recycling, manufacturing, or distribution facilities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated work areas when necessary.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse, production, and outdoor environments in varying temperatures.
  • Ability to safely inspect machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
