How you will make contributions that matter...
The Plant Manager provides strategic and tactical plant leadership, driving daily manufacturing operations with positive outcomes. Ensures policies and procedures are followed. Develop processes to maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
- Directs the overall activities of the manufacturing facilities of the plant to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled, produced and shipped at the lowest possible cost to meet the customers’ requirements while maintaining the highest quality and food safety standards.
- Analyzes plant operations to ensure the facility maintains a strong leadership position in the industry. Implements new processes and technologies, driving continuous improvement and align with the strategic growth plan.
- Is responsible for expense control, including shrink, yields, labor and overhead costs.
- Develops annual manufacturing expense budget in accordance with forecasted sales volumes and planned inventory levels.
- Develops and manages implementation of plant capital budget.
- Provides reliable and accurate information to finance to ensure that end of month closing schedules are met.
- Ensures that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) are developed and maintained for all aspects of the business.
- Support full engagement and leadership for employee health and safety programs, policies and procedures to lead prevention efforts and employee behaviors.
- Is responsible for the Food Safety Policy/Program to assess potential food safety risks and to ensure food safety preventive measures are being implemented and routinely audited regarding the manufacturing, handling and storage of all food ingredients as well as finished goods.
- Is responsible for all corporate, customer and government audits to ensure compliance.
- Collaborates with other plant managers within Saputo to share best practices.
- Acts as a liaison with Distribution, Supply Planning, Finance, Sales and Customer Service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction in helping to address customer inquiries, problems and concerns.
- Is responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, and employee commendation.
You are best suited for the role if you…
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a plant operations manager level role, preferably in dairy food manufacturing operations.
- Must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of regulatory laws, standards and best practices relative to our business.
- Demonstrated understanding of costs related to dairy manufacturing and packaging.
- Budget experience a must.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal milk order and pasteurized milk ordinance.
- Must be able to train and lead a team, formulate policy, and direct people activities.
- Ability to quickly assess, evaluate, and solve problems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP experience required, SAP a plus.
- Ability to remain approachable and accessible to employees on all shifts, and work some weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to travel as required.
- Must have the ability to positively influence, lead, coach, motivate and mentor a team in a “hands-on” environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.

Salary Range: $123,430 to $162,000
Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training.
