We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations in a food production facility. This role oversees production, maintenance, sanitation, packaging, and warehouse operations while driving safety, quality, efficiency, compliance, and overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily plant operations to meet production, quality, safety, service, and financial goals.
- Manage production scheduling, labor planning, budgets, and operating costs.
- Lead production, maintenance, sanitation, packaging, and warehouse teams.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, and other applicable standards.
- Partner with Quality and Food Safety on audits, corrective actions, traceability, and compliance.
- Improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and strengthen preventive maintenance.
- Monitor key metrics including productivity, labor, waste, yield, efficiency, overtime, and service levels.
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
- Recruit, coach, and develop leaders and frontline employees.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, HR, Maintenance, and Quality to achieve business objectives.
- Foster a safe, accountable, and high-performing workplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Required experience in food or beverage manufacturing within a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, GMPs, HACCP, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience leading large manufacturing teams and managing budgets and operational metrics.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods.
- Union manufacturing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with California labor and safety regulations is a plus.
- Experience with ERP and manufacturing systems.
