Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production facility and ensuring efficient and effective operations. The position establishes and manages systems, goals, objectives, operating procedures/processes, and management systems in support of corporate business strategies. The position has direct accountability and responsibility for meeting the manufacturing and financial goals of the site.

Plant Manager Roles and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the site and ensure the facility runs efficiently and meets production goals.

• Be the steward of the site’s safety culture and performance and work with the corporate safety team to ensure alignment

between site and corporate goals.

• Lead and develop the management team for the site including hiring, training, and performance management.

• Work with the corporate quality team to implement and monitor quality control processes and ensure all products meet our

high standards.

• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement long-term operational strategies that align with the

company’s growth objectives.

• Work with the finance team to set and manage the site budget. Continually look for opportunities to reduce costs and improve

asset performance.

• Manage site staffing levels and ensure HR policies are implemented consistently and are aligned with the overall corporate HR

objectives.

• Lead with a Lean Manufacturing mindset and use the PDCA process and proper change management procedures for process

improvements.

• Display impeccable written and verbal communication skills employing visible leadership and personal communication.

• Implement and maintain a culture that embraces change and addresses employee concerns while meeting operational goals.

• Establish and manage KPIs and key operations metrics at the site and corporate levels.

Plant Manager Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive partnerships and working collaboratively with cross-

functional teams.

• Strong operations leadership skills and ability to balance both short-term needs and long-term business objectives.

• Operational and financial understanding of the fundamentals in manufacturing, production planning, procurement, logistics

and engineering.

• Ability to lead strategic projects while maintaining day-to-day activities.

• Demonstrated proficiency in leading and managing effective teams.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

• Able to learn new systems and procedures in a fast-paced work environment.

Plant Manager Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in the label printing industry.

• Proven leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
