Job summary

MJ Recruiters, LLC is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at a mass production facility in Mansfield, OH. You will oversee engineering, production, maintenance, and quality, driving KPIs, Lean improvements, and plant analytics to meet monthly goals.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in plant management, ERP systems experience, P&L management, and strong Excel skills. Local candidates preferred for a climate-controlled environment with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • 3–5 years of plant management experience.
  • Experience with 100+ part numbers.
  • Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports.
  • Experience supplying to multiple customers/locations.
  • Experience with OEE and improving line efficiencies.
  • ERP system experience.
  • P&L management experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering, production, maintenance and quality teams.
  • Coach, mentor and uplift direct and indirect reports.
  • Foster a Lean culture and drive process improvements to cut scrap and costs.
  • Develop strategic capacity plans to meet goals.
  • Maintain relationships with production staff to hit targets.
  • Own P&L and review budgets/forecasts.
  • Prioritize work-in-process and monthly production needs.
  • Review production schedules and adjust to customer demand.
  • Lead capital equipment projects with engineering.
  • Develop plant analytics and production metrics for management reports.
  • Present production performance to leadership and drive cost control.

Successful, profitable manufacturer is seeking a Plant Manager to lead the operations of a performing, diverse plant. This position will oversee engineering, production, demand planning, maintenance and quality. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Coaching, mentoring and leading direct and indirect reports
  • Fostering a production environment that is focused on safety initiatives
  • Further establishing a Lean culture by identifying process improvements to decrease scrap, increase efficiencies, and save the organization money
  • Evaluating future needs of the plant and developing strategic plans to meet established goals
  • Fostering relationships with production staff to attain plant goals and make needed improvements
  • Owning the P&L and reviewing budgets and forecasts
  • Prioritizing work in process and meeting monthly production requirements
  • Reviewing the production schedules and making adjustments based on customer demands
  • Leading plant capacity planning and working with the engineering staff on future capital equipment projects
  • Developing and improving plant analytics and production metrics
  • Presenting production reports and metrics to the management team
  • Managing cost in order to achieve monthly goals
  • Other duties as assigned by upper management

REQUIREMENTS for the Plant Manager:
  • 1. Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field
  • 2. At least 3-5 years in a similar plant management position
  • 3. Experience working in complex manufacturing environments that are mass production and/or high volume
  • 4. Experience with 100+ part numbers
  • 5. Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports
  • 6. Experience supplying to multiple customers and/or locations
  • 7. Experience with OEE and improving line efficiencies
  • 8. ERP system experience
  • 9. P&L management
  • 10. Microsoft Excel skills
Skills preferred but NOT required:
  • 1. Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications
  • 2. Strong continuous improvement experience
  • 5. Power BI experience
