Job Summary
The Plant Manager oversees all daily operations of the sheet metal manufacturing facility, ensuring production efficiency, quality output, workforce management, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. This leadership role is responsible for driving continuous improvement, meeting production goals, and maintaining a positive, high-performing work culture.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Strategic management of production, quality, shipping, receiving, inventory, and facility management functions in a metal fabrication and assembly environment.
- Coordination of product manufacturing with European and US Production Managers.
- Implementation of lean manufacturing practices and efficiency measures.
- Development of manufacturing reporting and analysis systems.
- Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and operational delays.
- Coordinate and oversee operations with non-US facilities to develop processes that produce economies of scale.
- Implement productivity and quality metrics to minimize costs and enhance efficiency; develop and revise standard operational practices.
- Ensure OSHA compliance.
- Improve quality by researching best practices and identifying new skills, processes, or methods needed.
- Adhere to procedures in the Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety standards (OHSAS); ensure processes remain sustainable and effective.
- Continuously assess opportunities for improvement and implement needed changes to management systems.

- Collaborate with Quality, Environmental, and H&S teams to maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements
- 10 to 15 years of progressive operational, analytical,, and managerial experience in manufacturing, preferably in sheet metal fabrication.
- Familiarity with international manufacturing standards and hands-on experience with metal fabrication equipment preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; an MBA is desirable.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, with SAP preferred.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machinery, welding, and powder coating, including Amada press brake, punch, and laser machines.
- Proven track record in managing operations, finance, and quality assurance.
- Experience with ISO 9001 processes, documentation, and audits.
- Strong computer skills.
