ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Lead all departments in the plant to maintain safety, quality, and efficient production.
- Coordinate production, distribution, and warehousing functions in accordance with established policies, principles, and procedures.
- Develop and implement plans, policies and procedures for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
- Review and analyze production costs and product quality and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plant.
- Direct preparation of production, human resources and labor/costs records.
- Recommend budgets to management.
- Manage Pay for Skills program for production employees.
- Maintain positive working relationship with sales management and customer service management.
- Systematically review financial performance of the plant to recommend to management opportunities for sales growth and cost savings.
- Coordinate plant safety, environmental and training activities in cooperation with the Human Resources Department.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Manages subordinate supervisors and/or production management who supervise all plant employees.
- Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED plus college and/or appropriate technical courses.
- Five years’ experience as a proven manager.
- Ten years corrugated manufacturing experience.
- College degree, preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.):
- Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. This also supports the supervisor's role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.
- Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement.
- Budget development, adherence and analysis.
- Quality standards.
- Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ and EEO.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit.
