The Plant Manager will oversee all plant operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership to manage teams, optimize processes, and achieve strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics, to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of [approximate number, e.g., 50+] employees, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
- Process Optimization: Implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage plant budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial goals.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain, procurement, and corporate leadership to align plant operations with company objectives.
- Reporting and Analysis: Track KPIs (e.g., production output, downtime, defect rates) and provide regular reports to senior management.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience working in a unionized environment, including collective bargaining, grievance handling, and labor relations.
- Skills:
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate union-related negotiations and foster positive labor relations.
