Job summary

DSJ Global in Columbus, Ohio seeks a Plant Manager to lead a complex chemical manufacturing operation, driving safety, quality, and productivity while delivering long-term growth objectives.

You will oversee production, engineering, quality, maintenance, and EHS, develop site strategies, lead capital projects, and foster a high-performance, union-aware culture through strong leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, operations or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in chemical/materials/ process-driven environments, including union setting leadership.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, PSM, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
• Proven track record leading capital projects and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership of the facility to achieve quality, service, productivity and cost objectives.
• Develop and execute site strategies related to capacity expansion, investments, and continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop manufacturing and technical teams with a focus on safety, accountability, and labor relations.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership of the facility, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations while achieving quality, service, productivity, and cost objectives.
• Develop and execute site strategies related to capacity expansion, capital investments, operational excellence, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead and develop manufacturing and technical teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, employee engagement, and positive labor relations.
• Drive process optimization, problem-solving, and performance improvement efforts while ensuring compliance with EHS, PSM, and quality management systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Operations, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience within chemical, materials, specialty manufacturing, or other process-driven environments, including experience leading operations in a union setting.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM), quality systems, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational best practices.
• Proven track record leading capital projects, operational improvement initiatives, and high-performing cross-functional teams.
