About The Role

We are seeking a results-driven Plant Manager with expertise in lean transformation, team development, and technology implementation. This key leadership role involves overseeing daily operations, driving productivity, quality, and cultural improvements, and shaping long-term strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate will lead a diverse production team, including experienced and new talent, and will be passionate about developing people and leading lean initiatives in manufacturing environments. Our operations are expanding into automation, assembly, and post-processing, and the Plant Manager will play a critical role in these areas.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 3 supervisors and 80+ frontline employees.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
  • Allocate supervisors and resources effectively to maximize efficiency.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with supply chain, customer service, maintenance, and leadership to align goals and ensure operational continuity.
  • Share progress through reports, updates, and meetings.

Process Improvement

  • Lead lean events such as Kaizen, SMED, and TPM.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Track and ensure accountability for improvements.

Training & Development

  • Train supervisors and leads in lean principles.
  • Collaborate on recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies.

Strategic Planning & Growth

  • Address capacity, staffing, and capital needs.
  • Manage aspects of new product launches, including ramp-up and troubleshooting.

Technology & Data Utilization

  • Use ERP systems to optimize scheduling, workflow, and reporting.
  • Support production data systems for downtime, quality, and material movement tracking.

Key Objectives

  • Achieve zero reportable accidents.
  • Maintain zero external PPM quality issues.
  • Enhance efficiency through lean initiatives.
  • Improve new hire retention at 90 and 180 days.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Success in leading lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
  • Hands-on, action-oriented leadership style.
  • Experience with metal stamping, aluminum extrusion, or related processes is preferred.

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in lean manufacturing are advantageous.

Preferred Qualities

  • Analytical thinking and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to coach and inspire teams.
  • Balance of daily operations and strategic planning skills.
