Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience in fast-paced, customer-driven manufacturing environments.

Position Overview

Imprimus Labels & Packaging is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Brea, California. This hands‑on leadership position is responsible for the facility's overall performance, including production, quality, safety, staffing, scheduling, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a strong manufacturing leader who understands the demands of a fast‑paced label printing and converting environment and can build an accountable, safety‑focused, high‑performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for daily plant operations.
  • Manage production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Lead and develop production supervisors, operators, and support personnel.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
  • Oversee production scheduling, workflow, staffing, equipment utilization, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor plant KPIs, including productivity, waste, spoilage, downtime, labor efficiency, on‑time delivery, and quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving throughput, and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and proactively address operational issues.
  • Partner closely with Customer Service, Sales, Quality, Maintenance, Prepress/Graphics, HR, and senior leadership.
  • Ensure customer requirements, specifications, and delivery commitments are consistently achieved.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance priorities and help identify capital equipment and facility needs.
  • Participate in hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
  • Support employee engagement and maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable workplace culture.
  • Manage plant expenses and identify opportunities to improve profitability without compromising safety, quality, or customer service.
  • Provide regular operational updates and performance reporting to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including experience managing a production facility or significant manufacturing operation.
  • Label printing, flexible packaging, commercial printing, converting, or closely related manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with flexographic and/or digital printing operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing KPIs, production scheduling, waste reduction, labor management, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead supervisors and hourly production teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to balance production demands, customer priorities, quality requirements, and cost objectives.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑driven manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
