Our esteemed company, a leading player in the engineering industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to join our team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our high-quality manufacturing processes and ensure the smooth operation of our production lines. The successful candidate will oversee our plant operations, which includes the manufacturing of a variety of baked good products.

Must be located in the DC metro area and/or open to relocation.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and manage all aspects of the plant operations, ensuring that production schedules are met within quality and cost objectives.
2. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, enhance quality, and reduce manufacturing costs.
3. Ensure strict adherence to HACCP and other food safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation.
4. Oversee the production of a variety of baked goods, including but not limited to croissants and other dough-based products.
5. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
6. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, promoting a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
7. Collaborate with other departments, such as quality assurance and maintenance, to address production challenges and optimize processes.
8. Manage budget and production metrics, implementing strategies to optimize profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
10. Foster a culture of safety, ensuring all safety protocols are adhered to and all employees are adequately trained on safety procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a manufacturing plant, preferably in the food industry.
3. Proven experience in the production of baked goods, particularly croissants and other dough-based products.
4. Solid understanding of food processing and HACCP principles.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities and an analytical mindset.
7. Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize manufacturing processes.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
9. Proficiency in budget management and production metrics.
10. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
