Job summary

Sunrock is seeking a Plant Utility Person to support daily operations, maintenance, and housekeeping at asphalt, concrete, or aggregate plants. The role requires flexibility to work across plant locations and schedules, including overtime and weekends, with independent work within established procedures.

Responsibilities include equipment inspection, basic maintenance, and general housekeeping, using tools and performing welding or cutting tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read and follow basic instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies, MSHA, and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly plant environment.
• Perform general plant housekeeping and cleanup, including high-pressure hoses and debris removal.
• Inspect plant equipment and report mechanical issues.
• Operate equipment such as Haul Truck, Skid steer, Front-end loader, Dump truck, Sweeper.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs, including replacing parts and lubricating machinery.
• Identify equipment issues by observing performance and listening for irregular sounds.
• Assist in assembling and maintaining pipe systems, valves, gauges, and regulators.
• Operate cutting torch and welding equipment as needed.
• Climb stairs to perform maintenance tasks.
• Load and unload materials and supplies.
• Maintain maintenance records and report completed work.
• Support team operations and production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
