Job summary

Sunrock is seeking a Plant Utility Person to support day-to-day operations, maintenance, and housekeeping across asphalt, concrete, or aggregate plants. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple locations with overtime and weekends as needed, and independent work within established procedures.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, equipment inspection, basic troubleshooting, and operating heavy machinery.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read and follow basic instructions and safety procedures.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies, MSHA, and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly plant environment.
• Perform general plant housekeeping and cleanup, including using high-pressure hoses and removing debris.
• Inspect plant equipment and report mechanical issues.
• Operate equipment such as Haul Truck, Skid steer, Front-end loader, Dump truck, Sweeper.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs, including replacing parts and lubricating machinery.
• Identify equipment issues by observing performance and listening for irregular sounds.
• Operate cutting torch and welding equipment as needed.
• Climb stairs and catwalks to perform maintenance tasks.
• Load and unload materials and supplies.
• Assist in maintaining maintenance records and reporting completed work.
• Support team operations and production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned
