Job summary

Covia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, reliable operation of our plant equipment in Hephzibah, GA. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with operations and contractors to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates have hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing or mining environments, with strong problem-solving and safety culture. Overtime and on-call work may be required as part of a dynamic plant team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• Experience as a mechanic or multi-craft technician is mandatory.
• Electrical experience preferred; PLC programming a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing environment; mining experience a plus.
• Experience with screw conveyors, belts, feeders, rotary valves, dust collectors.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision; willingness to work overtime and be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns; report unsafe conditions.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on equipment.
• Plan maintenance work with operations, contractors, and plant personnel; maintain labor records.
• Maintain parts inventory and assist operations/production across plant sites.
