Job summary

Athens Services is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to lead and optimize the maintenance of our industrial machinery at the sun-drenched Sun Valley facility in Idaho.

You will prioritize safety, supervise workload, monitor preventive maintenance, and uphold regulatory requirements while coaching maintenance staff and ensuring the right tools and parts are available. Bilingual English/Spanish, strong Excel/Office skills, and hands-on mechanical experience are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or GED.
• 3 years maintenance experience and/or support of maintenance department.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Self-motivated, highly competitive, and results-oriented with a proven and documented history of success.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and email communication; ability to learn internal maintenance software quickly.
• Experience implementing safety programs.
• Leadership, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

Summary

Athens Services invites you to join our team as a Plant Maintenance Technician, where your expertise and leadership experience will drive our operations forward. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. With experience in an industrial-style environment and fabrication knowledge, you’ll troubleshoot and diagnose issues, dismantle devices, and expertly repair components. Your keen eye for detail will spot operational challenges, allowing you to provide valuable insights and maintain our MRF facility.

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Plant Maintenance Tech is responsible for the efficient operation of the maintenance department. Prioritizes workload according to safety factors and operational needs and ensures workload is evenly distributed. Reviews productivity levels and the progress of all repairs. Monitors the preventative maintenance programs to ensure they are done in a timely manner consistent with all regulatory requirements. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by ensuring safe work practices are followed and monthly safety meetings are conducted. Administer company policy and procedures and promote positive employee relations. Candidates should have knowledge in troubleshooting and/or working with Conveyors, electronics (motor controls, VFD, PLC (Allen Bradley) and Hydraulics.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist Maintenance Supervisors and/or Manager to oversee the maintenance department by regularly reviewing and auditing processes/procedures to ensure that the maintenance employees are performing quality inspections/repairs, documenting all repairs, and making process alterations as needed.

• Ensures proper parts inventory management and organization. Performs regular inspections to guarantee processes are being followed.

• Promote positive team work and safe working behaviors.

• Provide proper coaching and/or mentorship to all maintenance employees that will help promote a healthy and positive work environment.

• Ensures all maintenance employees have tools, equipment and supplies to perform maintenance and/or daily tasks.

• Promote the use of relevant technology and information systems that improve shop performance such as Dossier.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and/or GED

• 3 years Maintenance experience and/or support of maintenance department.

• Bilingual (English /Spanish).

• Self-motivated, highly competitive, and results-oriented with a proven and documented history of success.

• Proficiency level skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and communicating using email. Ability to learn our internal maintenance software quickly.

• Work experience in successfully implementing safety programs and processes.

• Must have leadership experience, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Highly proficient in maintenance and shop operations.

• An extensive background as a mechanic with three or more years of hands-on experience is preferred.

• Waste industry experience.

• Mechanical school certificate(s)

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

• Valid Class “A or B” license. Good driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Trade School Certification.

• Bilingual English / Spanish.

• Welder certification.

• Waste, rock & sand, concrete, and/or asphalt industry experience.

Schedule: 6AM - 2:30PM (Mon-Fri) + Every other Saturday

Pay Range: $34.56 - $36.31
