Job summary

Darling Ingredients in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Maintenance Worker 1 to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under supervision. You will assist with equipment installation, repairs, and daily lubrication, contributing to safe and efficient operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift experience, and welding/electrical/mechanical skills. Preference for vocational training and 2+ years on similar equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Experience in welding, electrical, and mechanical work.

Responsibilities

• Assists in installation of new equipment.
• Assists Maintenance Supervisor and/or other personnel on projects.
• Trains Level 1 Maintenance personnel when above level 1.
• Performs machine repair and installation (motors, gear boxes, pumps, piping).
• Conducts daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment.
• Diagnoses and replaces equipment parts with minimal direction.
• Diagnoses and repairs control circuits and VFD installation.
• Keeps work area clean, neat, and orderly.
• Follows safety rules and attends safety meetings.
• All other duties as assigned.
