Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Worker 1 to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under supervision.

The role involves assisting with new equipment installation, supporting the Maintenance Supervisor on projects, and following the preventive maintenance schedule. You will be engaged in machine repair, welding, electrical tasks, and diagnosing control circuits, while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Experience in welding, electrical, and mechanical work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing new equipment.
• Support Maintenance Supervisor on special projects.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules.
• Trains Level 1 Maintenance personnel if above level 1 maintenance.
• Perform machine repair and installation (motors, gear boxes, piping, pumps).
• Conduct daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment.
• Diagnose and replace parts with minimal direction.
• Repair control circuits and install VFDs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety rules.
• Attend safety meetings and participate on Safety Committee if asked.
• All other duties as assigned.
