Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company in California's San Bernardino area is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to help keep our site reliable by performing inspections, basic PM tasks, and routine maintenance with minimal supervision. You will troubleshoot and replace mechanical components, maintain logs, and assist in maintaining a hazard-free work environment while adhering to MSHA and OSHA standards.

A high school diploma and 2–5+ years in heavy industrial maintenance preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 to 5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in aggregate/mining/heavy industry.
• Familiarity with heavy quarry equipment and plant operations.
• Understanding of inspection procedures and routine maintenance tasks.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to follow MSHA/OSHA protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre/post-shift inspections and complete scheduled PM tasks.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components like belts, idlers, pulleys, pumps.
• Perform structural repairs, welding, cutting, and grinding for wear parts.
• Rebuild and fabricate parts and order parts from approved vendors.
• Maintain service logs and maintenance records for plant equipment.
• Adhere to LOTO protocols and maintain a hazard-free work area.
• Assist in maintenance of mobile equipment and observe operations for anomalies.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
