Job Summary/Scope

Position: Plant Maintenance Technician 1

Purpose of Position

A plant maintenance technician troubleshoots equipment, performs preventive maintenance, completes daily paperwork, and maintains good housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems in the plant.
• Lubrication of all plant equipment.
• Assisting in emergency repair situations.
• Performing skilled preventive maintenance diagnosis.
• Using jackhammers as needed.
• Maintaining and cleaning dust collectors.
• Completing daily paperwork.
• Fabricating steel and wood components.
• Maintaining good housekeeping in the shop.
• Threading pipes and plumbing.
• Repairing conveyor belts.

Qualifications and Education

• High mechanical aptitude.
• General knowledge of Redi-mix plant preferred.
• Ability to operate forklift (training provided).
• Ability to operate manlift (training provided).
• Ability to fabricate items based on prints.
• Ability to cut and weld.
• Ability to rig equipment for lifting.
• Able to wear a respirator.
• Able to lift 50-100 pounds.
• Not afraid of heights: candidate must be comfortable walking up a 320-foot conveyor belt at a 45-degree angle.
