Laepple Automotive US, Inc. in Detroit is seeking a results-driven Facilities and Maintenance Manager to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of maintenance programs for our manufacturing plant.

You will drive reliability, safety, and cost control while supporting production targets. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership, process discipline, and a collaborative mindset, overseeing a team of technicians and coordinating with HSE and project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or facilities field.
• 5–7 years of maintenance management experience in manufacturing with supervisory responsibility.
• CMRP and PMP certifications are beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, automation, and facility systems.
• Proficiency with CMMS and data-driven maintenance planning.
• Experience with root cause analysis methodologies.
• Solid knowledge of safety regulations and leading safety programs.
• Budgeting, cost control, and vendor management experience.
• Experience managing capital equipment projects and upgrades.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance strategy for plant equipment, utilities, and facilities.
• Lead maintenance planning and scheduling to maximize uptime and minimize downtime.
• Oversee budgets, cost controls, and spare parts optimization.
• Lead a team of technicians and facilities staff; recruit, train, coach and evaluate performance.
• Establish and enforce maintenance standards and safety protocols.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
• Collaborate on equipment upgrades, new equipment integrations, and Capex projects.
• Monitor KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR, backlog, energy usage, and safety metrics.
• Manage spare parts and inventory with MRO Buyer; optimize vendor relationships.
• Ensure CMMS is used for work orders, history, asset registers, and reporting.
• Maintain facility infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, robotics, conveyors).
• Coordinate with HSE for a safe and compliant working environment.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs for critical assets and utilities.
• Plan and lead downtime events with minimal production disruption.
• Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
• Adhere to ISO/IATF, OSHA/MIOSHA and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
