Job summary

InfraHire Group in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Maintenance & Operation Manager with hands-on mechanical aptitude to oversee production equipment and drive reliable operation. The role involves monitoring machinery, performing routine checks, and conducting preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance, be able to follow safety procedures, and work independently or with a team to support plant operations.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and ability to follow written procedures and safety requirements.
• Willingness to perform physical, hands-on work and learn new equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate production and processing equipment throughout the facility.
• Perform routine equipment checks to identify wear, damage, or developing issues.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and basic mechanical repairs.
• Assist with diagnosing equipment problems and restore machinery to normal operation.
• Support production activities and material movement as needed.
• Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, bearings, belts, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
• Document inspections, equipment readings, maintenance activities, and repairs.
• Communicate equipment concerns and production interruptions to supervisors.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations team to reduce downtime.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of tools, machinery, and work areas.
• Follow facility safety procedures, environmental requirements, and housekeeping standards.
• Participate in training and learn additional plant systems and maintenance procedures.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or plant operations preferred.
