Job summary

CEMEX in Birmingham, AL seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to perform a broad range of mechanical tasks across plant equipment and facilities, ensuring reliable operation and adherence to safety standards.

You will collect data for preventive maintenance, perform bearing replacements, alignments, welding, pipefitting, lubrication, and inspections while following plant procedures and reporting to supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior mechanical or welding experience, training or certification required.
• Prior plant maintenance mechanic experience is a plus.
• Bi-lingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance mechanic assignments on plant equipment and facilities.
• Collect data for preventative and predictive plant maintenance projects.
• Perform millwright assignments such as bearing replacement, alignment, inspection and repair of power transmission.
• Perform welding and cutting assignments for fabrication and repair of plant equipment and structures.
• Inspect lubrication, record data, take lab samples, drain and change oil and filters.
• Perform pipefitter assignments to install, maintain, inspect piping structures.
• Operate mobile equipment to assist with maintenance tasks.
• Perform plumbing inspection and repair on plant equipment and facilities.
• Adhere to CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and wear safety equipment.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
