Job summary

Axalta seeks a Master Mechanic to oversee maintenance and ensure reliability of production equipment. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, with hands-on experience in powder coating systems, extrusion lines, and grinding operations.

Based in Houston, TX, duties include scheduling work orders, coordinating with safety and quality teams, and maintaining maintenance logs in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with powder coating equipment, extrusion lines and grinding systems.
• Welding, fabrication, and machining experience is a plus.
• Technical education or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on powder coating booths, ovens, and conveyors.
• Maintain extrusion lines, grinders, mixers, and dust collection systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement solutions.
• Plan and schedule maintenance work orders and manage parts inventory.
• Maintain logs and equipment performance documentation; drive process improvements.
