Job summary

Flowers Foods is seeking an Engineering Manager to ensure peak plant efficiency through strategic planning, program management and succession planning. The role collaborates with plant leadership to uphold safety, regulatory and quality standards while driving maintenance excellence.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of leadership in industrial ops and a background in project management, quality assurance, and employee development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven leadership or supervisory experience in industrial operations or related field
• Knowledge of project management, quality assurance, and employee development
• Knowledge of industrial machinery and preventive maintenance a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is desired; high school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Manage superintendents and projects: small scale maintenance project planning and down day planning with superintendents
• Manage Capital expenditure (CapEx) program and Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) annual planning and forecasting
• Manage employee development and succession planning
• Utilize SAP to review and approve: breakdown report, overtime report, and purchase orders. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of inventory variances
• Review spare parts stock level
• Attend plant operation meetings
• Attend vendor meetings and coordinate planning
• Oversee financial review and reporting, monitoring and reporting on P&L for maintenance spend
• Conduct floor walks with superintendent for department-work verification
• Manage equipment trends and preventive maintenance program assessments
