Plant Maintenance ElectricianHow you’ll spend your dayYou start with a quick safety huddle and a scan of the CMMS to prioritize work orders. A packaging line is down—within minutes you’re tracing a control circuit, reading a schematic, and isolating a faulty starter. Later, you’ll tune a VFD, verify a transformer tap, and commission a replacement motor. Between calls, you update PM tasks that keep our equipment reliable, from checking thermocouples and transmitters to inspecting breakers and valves. When a lift is needed, you operate mobile equipment and coordinate safe rigging so the team can return the line to peak performance. What you’ll doMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipmentDiagnose issues with motors, drives, starters, breakers, transformers, and control circuitsInterpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to solve problems quicklyWork directly with PLCs, instrumentation, and electronic control systemsInstall and replace components, including motors, valves, thermocouples, and transmittersExecute and improve preventative maintenance tasks to reduce unplanned downtimeEnter, track, and close out work orders in the CMMS; source needed partsOperate mobile equipment and assist with rigging when requiredFollow strict safety procedures and keep your work area organized and cleanWhat you bringHands-on industrial electrical maintenance experienceProven troubleshooting ability across power and control systemsBackground with PLCs, instrumentation, and industrial automation (preferred)Fluency in reading electrical drawings and schematicsKnowledge of power distribution and AC/DC circuitsComfort using hand tools, test instruments, and precision measuring devicesStrong individual contributor who collaborates well on a teamPhysical demandsLift up to 100 lbsWork at heights, in confined spaces, and across varying temperaturesFrequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and repetitive motionComfort operating in industrial environments with dust and fumesAdditional notesYou must pass an electrical aptitude assessmentA safety-first mindset is essential at all times
