You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives across conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes.

The role requires 1+ years in heavy-duty maintenance, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience related to Heavy-Duty Maintenance jobs or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety practices is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, motors, and other plant equipment.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
  • Maximizes performance of stationary equipment by completing preventative maintenance on a timely basis.
  • Responds to equipment failures and production interruptions.
  • Trains and coaches other employees on maintenance practices.

Job description

The Plant Maintenance Technicianis responsible forensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment and systems. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives; maintenance work including but not limited tostationary and mechanical systems such as conveyors, shakers, pumps, and gearboxes, as well as general facility maintenance involving electrical, plumbing, and basic structural systems.AsPlantMaintenance, you may perform various roles, including fabrication, welding,cuttingand/or grinding, greasing, housekeeping, and other shop or processing duties.TheTechnician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime andmaintainingoptimalproduction performance.

KEYDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performsscheduled maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, motors, and other plant equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
  • Maximizes performance of stationary equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed ona timelybasis.
  • Responsible for ensuring the backlog process is completed and prioritized with the Supervisor and/or Plant Manager
  • Respondspromptly to equipment failures and production interruptions.
  • Assistswith cutting, welding, and fabrication tasks for plant components and structural repairs.
  • Performs fabrication, erection, and repair of processing and mobile equipment.
  • Completes required paperwork tomaintainequipment and to run the plant according to Martin Marietta standards
  • Adheresto MSHA safety standards and company policies.
  • Conductspre-shift inspections and ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance activities.
  • Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by Production
  • Ensurespreventativemaintenance services and lubrication services are completed according to the Maintenance Module.
  • Operates cranes, man-lifts, welding and cutting tools, and other specialty equipment as needed.
  • Trains andcoachesother employees on maintenance practices.
  • Maintainsaccuraterecords of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment condition.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors and operations teams regarding equipment status and repair needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Work Experience

1+ years of experience related toHeavy-DutyMaintenance jobs or equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in theAggregatesIndustry

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.
  • Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able tomaintainthree points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.
  • Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. You must have good depthperceptionwith or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.
Working Conditions
  • All duties require outside assignmentsand requireperiods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet,dryand dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85dbs.

COMPENSATION

The hiring range for this position is$26.00 - $35.00exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position.
