Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician in Colorado to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and support continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include servicing crushers, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes; conducting pre-shift inspections, maintaining records, and adhering to MSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of heavy-duty maintenance experience, preferably in the Aggregates Industry.
• Knowledge of equipment analysis and general repair concepts.
• Troubleshooting skills and MSHA compliance awareness.
• Detail oriented with strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance on crushers, conveyors, and pumps.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
• Maximizes performance of stationary equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance on a timely basis.
• Responsible for ensuring the backlog process is completed and prioritized with the Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
• Responds promptly to equipment failures and production interruptions.
• Assists with cutting, welding, and fabrication tasks for plant components and structural repairs.
• Performs fabrication, erection, and repair of processing and mobile equipment.
• Completes required paperwork to maintain equipment and to run the plant according to Martin Marietta standards.
• Adheres to MSHA safety standards and company policies.
• Conducts pre-shift inspections and ensures proper lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance activities.
• Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by Production.
• Ensures preventative maintenance services and lubrication services are completed according to the Maintenance Module.
• Operates cranes, man-lifts, welding and cutting tools, and other specialty equipment as needed.
• Trains and coaches other employees on maintenance practices.
• Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment condition.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors and operations teams regarding equipment status and repair needs

JOB SUMMARY

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment and systems. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives; maintenance work including but not limited to stationary and mechanical systems such as conveyors, shakers, pumps, and gearboxes, as well as general facility maintenance involving electrical, plumbing, and basic structural systems. As Plant Maintenance, you may perform various roles, including fabrication, welding, cutting and/or grinding, greasing, housekeeping, and other shop or processing duties. The Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and maintaining optimal production performance.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.

Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able tomaintainthree points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.

Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. You must have good depthperceptionwith or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.

Working Conditions

All duties require outside assignmentsand requireperiods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet,dryand dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85dbs.

COMPENSATION

The hiring range for this position is$26.00 - $35.00exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position.
