Job summary

O'Brien, a business of AMETEK, seeks an Opex Engineer to accelerate Continuous Improvement initiatives in our Missouri plant. Lead lean projects, coach teams, and drive sustainability of world-class operations through coaching and implementation of lean principles.

The role focuses on safety, efficiency, waste reduction, and process documentation, with strong emphasis on Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years’ experience with Lean or Six Sigma.
• Experience executing continuous improvement projects with measurable financial benefits.
• Strong communication and change management skills; able to lead kaizen events.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety site-wide and drive a safety-first culture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on CI projects to improve efficiency and quality.
• Develop process documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Use 5S, visual management, kaizen and root cause analysis to improve operations.
• Support cost optimization initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma and HPWT.
• Identify and track project results and report progress.
• Support New Product project launches.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Maintain quality standards and procedures.
