Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Plant Manager in Concord, CA to lead daily operations of an aggregate production facility, driving safety, quality, and efficiency. You will manage budgets, coordinate maintenance, and ensure regulatory compliance while guiding a team of hourly staff and contractors.

The role emphasizes delivering consistent product quality, optimizing throughput, and maintaining safe, compliant operations in a dynamic quarry or sand-and-gravel setting.

Qualifications

• MSHA compliance and regulations understanding.
• Knowledge of aggregate processing equipment and pit design.
• Experience with welding, repairs and maintenance of mobile processing equipment.
• Strong problem solving and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day plant operations and ensure safety, production, quality, and environmental goals are met.
• Lead safety culture and routine site inspections; enforce regulations.
• Manage production processes and KPIs (TPH, downtime, yield) to identify bottlenecks.
• Develop and manage plant/Mobile equipment PM programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
• Plan maintenance shutdowns and coordinate with maintenance teams and vendors.
• Control operating budget, labor costs, and procurement; implement cost-saving measures without sacrificing safety or quality.
• Collaborate with Quality Control to ensure ASTM, DOT, and customer specs are met.
