• Obeys the "General Rules for All Employees" at all times.
• Complies with all plant administrative rules.
• Complies with all applicable operating procedures.
• Obeys the plant safety rules.
• Assists in banding bundles of ties.
• As directed operates the endplater and pandrol equipment
• Inspects hand tools for defects and reports any findings.
• As required assists in performing preventive maintenance.
• Performs ground and building maintenance.
• Collects and disposes or yard waste material.
• Assists in repair of tracks.
• Properly labels all materials being handled.
• Removes cables and chains from trams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all SH&E regulations, policies and procedures.
• Promptly reports all injuries, unsafe conditions, spills and releases.
• Wears all personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the job.
• Completes all SH&E inspections as assigned.
• Works safely with and around hazardous materials/hazardous waste.
• Promptly reports and cleans up all drippage in Treated Wood Storage Yard.
• Performs required housekeeping activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment medical screening.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be medically cleared to wear required respiratory protection and can demonstrate a good face to facepiece seal when a respirator is required.
• Authorized as a confined space attendant or entrant.
• Trained as authorized personnel or affected personnel for lockout/tagout.
• Demonstrates acceptable retention level for the required training elements.
• Trained to handle hazardous waste.
