Job Description

Starting rate: $23.50/hr + $2.00/hr shift differential starting at 4pm

Location: Rock Island, IL

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am - 7pm

Duties and Responsibilities

• Examine finished products for height, shape, color, and consistency, applying knowledge of company standards and processes.
• Perform block checks, remove defective pieces, and replace with quality pieces, varying by line and product.
• Package products securely, add packaging materials, labels, and conduct final QC before shipment.
• Assist machine operators and support various processes such as pallet repair, general maintenance, and yard support.
• Follow established policies and procedures to meet QA standards.
• Maintain a clean workstation and assist with plant cleanup.
• Wear PPE and adhere to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Behave in accordance with Techo-Bloc’s vision, mission, and values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to write basic memos and communicate effectively on the shop floor.
• Capability to operate machinery (not as a machine operator).
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
• Reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Multitasking abilities.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• At least one year of manufacturing experience (preferred).

Physical Requirements

Must frequently lift and transport items up to 75 pounds, occasionally up to 80 pounds. Ability to inspect materials, identify color variances, and work in various physical positions. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
