Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting seeks a Director of IT & Industrial Systems for our Northeast Arkansas plant. This on-site role combines IT and OT leadership to build the technology foundation from the ground up, with responsibility for ERP/MES integration, automation, and vendor management.

You will design networks, cybersecurity controls, and data interfaces, coordinate with vendors, and establish backup, disaster recovery, and a roadmap for future automation and software expansion.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible IT experience.
• Manufacturing, distribution, steel processing, or industrial automation background strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting ERP and/or MES environments.
• Microsoft 365 and Windows administration.
• Working knowledge of SQL databases.
• Networking: TCP/IP, managed switches, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and fiber.
• Working understanding of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• REST APIs and system-to-system integration.
• IT/OT network segmentation and manufacturing cybersecurity.
• IP surveillance cameras and VoIP systems.
• Experience managing technology and automation vendors.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred; significant manufacturing technology experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Own IT and OT integration across ERP, MES, automation, and processing equipment.
• Troubleshoot APIs, databases, network communications, and system interfaces.
• Document interfaces, data flows, IP addressing, network architecture, and system dependencies.
• Design plant and corporate networks, including segmentation of IT and OT networks.
• Coordinate vendors, controls integrators, and equipment manufacturers through implementation and troubleshooting.
• Establish IT budgets, capital projects, and a technology roadmap for future expansion.
• Provide end-user support and ensure secure remote access for approved vendors.
