Job summary

Glenbard Wastewater Authority is seeking a Plant Instrument & Control Specialist for the Glen Ellyn wastewater facility. The role centers on installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation, SCADA, PLCs, and HMIs to support safe, efficient plant operations.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or technical certification in automation or instrumentation, 2–5 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with Rockwell, GE iFIX, Ignition, Siemens, and Honeywell

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in automation/instrumentation or related field; 2–5 years’ experience preferred.
Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell) and SCADA systems.
Familiarity with industrial control software platforms and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and calibrate instruments (gas detectors, flow measurement, level measurement) and SCADA systems.
Develop, troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, and process control systems.
Configure, program, and update control system software as required.
Assist with SCADA upgrades, expansions, and capital projects.
Develop maintenance schedules to prevent failures and extend asset life.
Record maintenance, calibration, and repair activities; manage spare parts inventory.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and document test results.
